SUPERVISION

Prospective doctoral students - I receive a large number of enquiries about PhD supervision and can supervise only a very small number of students. I am unable to review unsolicited full proposals or provide preliminary acceptance letters for scholarship applications.
I will consider an enquiry only where the proposed research closely matches my current work in academic writing, English-medium instruction, Global Englishes, research methods, or generative AI in language education.
Initial enquiries should include:
  • a brief explanation of the specific fit with my current research
  • the proposed research question and methodology, in no more than 300 words
  • the intended source of funding
  • the proposed start date
  • a CV
Generic or mass-distributed enquiries may not receive an individual response.
